Fancy dress parties are an ever-popular choice of party and it’s never been easier to track down your perfect costume with various fancy dress shops popping up on the internet for you to choose from. There’s such a wide choice available now at the click of a mouse and if your party has a theme you can simply search for the costumes based on that theme.

For a more general fancy dress party however you may want a little help with ideas for your costume. Characters from film, TV and cartoon are another good place to start if you are stuck for ideas for your fancy dress costume. With literally thousands of characters in this genre you should have no trouble deciding on some leading lady you have always admired and finding a costume to suit. Would you like to be the elegant Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s? Or perhaps you see yourself more as Wilma Flintstone or even Daphne from Scooby Doo?

If you really want to try on someone else’s uniform then a fancy dress party is the perfect opportunity for you to have someone else’s job for the night. It’s easy to pick up a policewoman’s outfit or even a nun’s habit online, not to mention school, army and flight attendants uniforms.

As it’s all about being someone different for a night you could choose to be your favorite rock or pop star. Get yourself a blonde wig and be rock ***** Blondie or maybe you could try on Amy Winehouse’s famous beehive. And if you want to be the Queen of Pop it’s easy to come by Madonna’s iconic conical bra as the basis for your costume. Have fun!
